The Basic English (A1) Course at De Sales Language Academy is designed to make English simple, friendly and achievable for complete beginners. • Alphabet, sounds and pronunciation.
• Greetings, polite expressions and common phrases.

2. Building Simple Sentences

• Basic sentence patterns (Subject–Verb–Object).
• Positive, negative and question formation.
• Talking about yourself, surroundings and daily routine.


3. Beginner Grammar Essentials

• Nouns, pronouns and basic verbs.
• Using “is / am / are” correctly.
• Articles (a, an, the).
• Simple Present Tense.
• WH-questions (what, who, where, when, why, how).


4. Everyday Conversation Practice

Level 2 • CEFR A2

Intermediate English – A2 (Pre-Intermediate)

The A2 level builds on the A1 foundation and helps learners handle most everyday situations with confidence, clarity and correct grammar. This level moves learners beyond survival English into meaningful communication.

• Talk about your background, family, shopping, hobbies and work.
• Use present, past, future, present continuous and present perfect tenses correctly.
• Apply common modals such as could, would and should.
• Use comparatives and superlatives naturally.
• Focus on practical communication on familiar topics.
• Core grammar: degrees of adjectives, can/could/might, framing questions, indefinite pronouns.
• Talk about future plans, arrangements and possibilities.

After Completing A2, You Will Be Able To

• Communicate comfortably in most daily situations.
• Form short descriptive sentences with confidence.
• Ask questions and express ideas clearly.
• Prepare smoothly for B1 English, B2 English or Business English.

Level Matching

Who Should NOT Join A1 & A2

This course is not suitable if:
• You can already form basic English sentences without much effort.
• You understand simple English conversations comfortably.
• You want direct preparation for job interviews or corporate communication.

In such cases, you’re likely better suited to: Intermediate English (A2/B1), Advanced English (B2) or Corporate English.

Correct level placement helps you progress faster and stay motivated.
