Levels of German Language
German language levels are divided in the below categories based on CEFR standards. CEFR is
short for the “Common European Framework of Reference”, which is a system used in Europe
to make language learning and assessment easier.

B1 Intermediate | Talk about interest, areas of expertise, make plans and explain familiar topics, talk about past, describe their day and their dreams, understand the main idea of complex texts involving both abstract and concrete topics | At the end of this level one can clearly understand the main points of a conversation when spoken in native German. |

C1 Advanced - Expert | Learn to use German effectively in your social, academic and professional life. C2 Mastery | The last of the German language levels means that you can understand basically anything you read or hear.
